The Management and Oversight of The Charity of Mrs. Mabel Luke
The Charity is registered with the Charity Commission (no: 236518) and with the Regulator of Social Housing as a Registered Provider (no: 4840). The Charity is organised and run by a sole 'corporate trustee', Mabel Luke Trustee Ltd, registered at Companies House (no:10241286). This comprises a Board of Directors, comprised of volunteers with relevant professional experience, all of whom give their time freely to the Charity.
Our part-time Clerk carries out most of the day-to-day work but the Directors oversee the work and take overall responsibility for the short and long term viability of the Charity for the benefit of residents.

Is tasked with increasing the number of new homes that are built in England, including those for affordable rent or sale, and for improving existing homes. Homes England provided much of the public funding that enabled the Charity to re-develop Mabel Luke Place.

The Almshouse Association
Represents 1,700 independent alms-house charities in the UK, providing homes for more than 35,000 people.
There are of course many fine alms-house buildings dotted all over the country, but few people realise how vibrant and progressive the alms-house movement is today. The Association assists charities to modernise and update alms-house dwellings – some of which date back centuries and may be listed buildings – to provide 21st century living while preserving our rich national heritage; and supports the development of contemporary, purpose-built flats and cottages, such as those provided by The Charity of Mrs Mabel Luke. Such projects are eligible for project management by its sister organisation, Alms-house Consortium Limited, which can also help to access public funds.
